Alpha Data Australia provides accredited courses and dictionaries to support teenagers, ESL and adults – to gain employment with an acceptable level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy in the workplace.

30943QLD Certificate 1 in Communication (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) – would be suitable for those wanting to: start or finish year 10, ESL students (including new immigrants) any person wanting to understand how the English language functions, so they can improve their communication skills. As the developers of the course we are able to adjust the course to meet your clients needs without interfering with the AQTF guidelines.

The techniques used in all the units are innovative, and have been trialled on a variety of people (300+) who could not achieve literacy using the current methods, or who had little or no English.

Dictionaries that show the pronunciation of thousands of words that Australians use regularly have helped to reinforce and improve the vocabulary of professionals and those in the workplace wanting to improve their confidence when communicating with colleagues and clients.

Alpha Data has patented the sounds heard within the Australian / English language, to protect those who have financial interests with us, all materials for the programme are copyrighted. No other programme has formulated the specific sounds heard in words – our formulas teach the individual sounds to enable pronunciation, once a student can pronounce any word, they will be able to read any word – provided by our dictionaries.

In addition the Federal government will fund up to 800 hours of training – through its LLNP program to eligible job seekers in blocks of 200 hours. Our course is nominally set at approximately 116 hours and can be extended to 200 hours with additional activities that we can provide (at no extra cost).  We are also limiting the number of businesses using the programme, to ensure there are sufficient clients in order to achieve a profitable turnover.

TORGAS commenced in Townsville in 1984 with one staff member and 15 apprentices.
